About INACC Workshop of INACC Indian National Aerospace and Cansat Challenge

The INACC Workshop is an exclusive 5-day National Aerospace & CANSAT Workshop for students who qualify through the INACC Olympiad. Bringing together young innovators from across India, the program offers hands-on experience in building and launching model rockets and can-sized satellites (CANSATs).

Students will learn directly from ISRO scientists, astronauts, and leading aerospace experts while exploring real-world space technology and engineering. Participants will design, test, launch, and analyze their own aerospace projects, gaining practical exposure to innovation, teamwork, and scientific research.

More than just a competition, the INACC Workshop is an immersive platform designed to inspire and nurture the next generation of aerospace innovators and space leaders.

Meet the Mentors

Dr. Venkateswarlu Andra

Dr. Venkateswarlu Andra is a control systems specialist with 23+ years of experience, including work at ISRO Satellite Centre, Bangalore on Attitude and Orbit Control Systems (AOCS) for high-pointing-accuracy spacecraft. He holds a PhD in Control Systems from IISc and has since worked in corporate research at GE Global Research and as a technology entrepreneur. He founded the IEEE Control Systems Society chapter in Bangalore and is passionate about mentoring the next generation of aerospace and autonomous systems engineers.

Dr. Ishita Ganjoo

Ishita Ganjoo is a scientist in the Control Dynamics and Design Group at the U. R. Rao Satellite Centre (URSC), ISRO, where she has worked since 2014, specializing in Attitude and Orbit Control Systems (AOCS). She has extensive experience designing, analyzing, and implementing guidance, navigation, and control algorithms for communication satellites, Earth observation satellites, and lunar missions. She holds a Bachelor's in Avionics from IIST Trivandrum and a Master's in Robotics and Autonomous Systems from IISc.

Dr. Deepak Singh

Dr. Deepak Singh is an Assistant Professor at the Centre for Studies in Resources Engineering (CSRE), IIT Bombay. He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. from the University of Michigan and an M.Sc.Tech. in Applied Geophysics from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. His research focuses on planetary cryosphere processes, snow and ice radiative modeling, and Mars–Venus surface–atmosphere interactions. He previously worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow and DST-INSPIRE Faculty at PRL, Ahmedabad, publishing extensively on planetary cryosphere–climate interactions.

Jaagrit Kumar Giri

Jaagrit Kumar Giri is a Mechanical Engineer specializing in thermal systems, structural analysis, propulsion, and digital manufacturing. With research experience at DRDO and IPGCL, he brings expertise in materials research, engineering design, and performance optimization. Passionate about innovation, he developed a Portable 3D Printing Machine and motion-tracking Data Gloves. As a mentor, Jaagrit promotes hands-on learning and next-generation aerospace, defense, and manufacturing technologies.

Subhra Jyoti Datta

Subhra Jyoti Datta is an Aerospace Engineer and Data Scientist specializing in rocket propulsion, avionics, AI, and robotics. As Software Co-Lead at Synodic Space Labs, Subhra has also worked with HAL, Boeing, Mach24 Orbitals, and Feynn Labs. A published researcher trained in quantum computing, Subhra combines engineering with AI/ML and mentors students in aerospace, robotics, and emerging technologies.

School

Venue

Vidyashilp Academy is a private, co-educational school in Yelahanka, Bengaluru, established in 1996, originally in Jakkur before relocating to Govindapura, Yelahanka in 2022. It is affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) and the University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), drawing its curriculum from both boards, and runs a learning centre for gifted children in partnership with the National Institute of Advanced Studies. Alongside its own in-house curriculum, the school follows the ICSE board as well as A Levels.

The school is also known for its sustainability initiatives — it runs an on-campus paper recycling unit that processes roughly 35–40 kg of collected paper and scrap daily, turning it into products like jewellery boxes, diaries, and gift bags, and using recycled paper for its own newsletters and report cards. Students have also taken on community projects, including a Grade 8 initiative in January 2020 to help revive Bengaluru's 45-acre Doddasanne Lake as part of WFUNA's "Mission Possible" program.

Only students who successfully qualify through the INACC Olympiad (Phase 1) are eligible to participate in INACC Workshop.

INACC Workshop is a 5-day residential on-ground aerospace and CANSAT workshop.

Students will design, build, test, and launch their own model rockets and can-sized satellite payloads (CANSATs).

Yes. Participants will launch their rockets and payloads up to heights of approximately 100 meters under expert supervision and analyze real mission data.

The workshop will be conducted by aerospace experts, STEM educators, industry professionals, ISRO scientists, and distinguished astronauts.

No prior experience is required. The workshop is designed to guide students through every stage of the learning and building process.

Yes. Accommodation, meals, supervision, and safety arrangements will be available for outstation participants during the event at an additional cost.
